I often get excited about the little things in life. I got very excited that I first drafted this post in my favorite blue notebook with an ultra fine retractable red Sharpie.
I get excited for the first snowfall when the magical bits of ice start coming down to rest on my nose and eyelashes.
I love the springtime when the spring bulbs start to poke their heads out of the snow.
I love how 40 degrees feels like 65 in the early spring and I'm sorely tempted to wear shorts.
I feel like a little kid when I see presents under a sparkling, lighted Christmas tree, even if I wrapped half the presents and their contents aren't a secret.
Little is always best. Like the little way of St. Therese (http://www.romancatholicism.org/therese2.htm). Sacrificing small things instead of trying to make a big show of how holy you are. And I speak from experience...sometimes the smallest things are the hardest. Putting yourself last is difficult..but that's another topic for another time.
Anyway, back to my excitement about life...
Really, if you waited for just the huge surprises in life, you'd probably be disappointed.
Yesterday, I got excited looking at plane tickets. I'm hoping to study abroad in Austria from January through May and we're starting to finalize plans. Who knew I could get so into how long and where layovers would be on flights??
On another note, I hate it when bugs fly into my ear...apparently there is a rogue fly in my room.
