I was talking to a dear friend today about how difficult life is sometimes. We were both venting about how nothing ever seems to go right. Sometimes especially when guys are concerned. (I don't know how that happens) They're both going through some life things right now, and he seemingly needs some space...since he's been somewhat impossible to contact recently. She told me she had planned to write him a long message sometime soon, but then she decided that she could help him better by praying for him. She started a novena. She's praying and writing him a short letter each day. At the end of the novena, she's going to try and talk to him. She wants to give him the letters that she wrote. So instead of holding a grudge and ignoring him as I would do, she strives to be selfless and reach outside of herself to help where others might be hurting. We're all familiar with the Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you," and I think now it's time to apply it to my prayer life. As difficult as it is to leave the past just there -- in the past -- the mature move is to pray for that person that drives you crazy. Because wouldn't you want them to pray for you? Thanks for the inspiration
